Montrebei from the Water!
With a kayak and paddle in hand, we'll venture into the gorge and enjoy the spectacular natural scenery this unique place has to offer.
Located in the Montsec mountain range, in the Pre-Pyrenees of Lleida, the Noguera Ribagorzana River forms the natural border between Catalonia and Aragon and has carved, over thousands of years, one of the country's most breathtaking and unspoilt landscapes: the Montrebei Gorge.
It is the only gorge in Catalonia that remains completely untouched, with no roads or railway lines crossing it—only a footpath carved into the rock that allows visitors to explore it on foot.
This time, however, we'll discover the gorge from the water! With a kayak and paddle, we'll glide along the calm waters that separate Montsec d'Ares (Catalonia) from Montsec d'Estall (Aragon).
The difficulty of the route is easy to moderate.
The route covers a distance of 14 km and takes approximately 5 hours to complete.
